Committee Chairs

Help the HAUL Guild movement recruit, recognize, and retain membership by: ​

• maintain accurate membership roster

• develop, maintain and distribute the Welcome Package to all new and renewing members

• host the quarterly membership socials

• host bi-monthly orientation ​

Support the HAUL Guild movement with organizing participation in civic activities including:

• Townhall's 

• Voter Registration Drives 

• VDR trainings

• Legislative advocacy 

• National Urban League Advocacy Certificate Program

Give back to the community with the HAUL Guild by:

• establishing on-going community volunteer opportunities

• plan and execute: Outreach & Service Projects

• remind members to Track volunteer hours

Utilizing National and Local resources support the HAUL Guild by:

• coordinating Guild Leadership Training quarterly

• championing conference participation 

• spearheading succession planning

Encourage the community to participate with the HAUL Guild by:

• promoting Guild initiatives

• managing public relations

• oversee digital and print content

• Co-chair: Aaron Davis (Communications Secretary)

Utilizing the Houston Area Urban League youth initiatives by:

• ​supporting Guild youth volunteer opportunities

• promoting educational development programming 

Work with the President and the committee chairs to support in-person Guild activities with: 

• refreshments

• logistics

• member engagement

Responsible for Guild fundraising this 11 member team with the support of the Treasurer:

• develops fundraising ideas

• executes activities

• tracks all money and in-kind donations

Reviews, recommends, ensures access for governance documents of the HAUL Guild including: 

• Bylaws

• Policies

• Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)

This committee brings historical knowledge and support to the Guild.  This committee is only open to Guild Past Presidents.
