MEMBERSHIP
The Houston Area Urban League Guild is a volunteer auxiliary of the Houston Area Urban League whose function is to promote volunteerism and raise funds to support the League. Comprised of many active members, we strengthen the League by communicating its programs and initiatives within the community.
Our community is an essential part of our existence. With an emphasis on fostering a lifetime of service to all, the Guild promotes the programs and concerns of the Urban League within the Houston metropolitan area. We participate in many activities that empower individuals and strengthen our community such as mentoring, academic tutorials, voter registration drives, school supply drives, and many other activities that provide economic empowerment, educational opportunities and the guarantee of civil rights. We are empowering others through our collective action to bring change especially within disadvantaged areas.
The Guild supports the League in efforts that provide opportunities for individuals to enter the economic and social mainstream. We generate community awareness and interest of the League's programs focusing on education and youth development; workforce and economic development; workforce training; housing; and health and wellness.
We welcome you to become a Guilder and join the empowerment movement. Membership fees for the Guild are $70.00 annually per person. Membership age starts at 40+. This includes membership in the Houston Area Urban League. Please note the Houston Area Urban League or the Houston Area Urban League Guild reserves the rights to reject any volunteer application for any reason.
